I operate Belize Services, an independently run website for discovering Belize businesses and travel ideas. This policy explains how I handle information when you browse the site, create an account, use customer or provider features, submit a service request, or contact me.

Depending on how you use the site, I may collect your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, account details supplied through Clerk, and information you submit about a service request, business, review, or profile. Service requests can include your location, service needs, preferred date, description, notes, and photos. Provider profiles can include business and contact details, service areas, images, and links you choose to publish. If you use an account, the dashboard may also store your saved providers, catalogues, travel favorites, and reviews.

When you browse the site, technical information may be collected, including your IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, referral information, and security or server logs. Cookies and similar technologies may be used for authentication, site operation, analytics, and advertising.

2. How I use information

I use information to operate and secure the website; authenticate customer and provider accounts; review and publish provider profiles; save account preferences and activity; receive and manage service requests; connect requests with relevant providers where appropriate; respond to questions; administer provider plans and verify payments; prevent abuse; understand site usage; and send account, verification, security, or service notices.

3. How information is shared

I use service providers to operate the site, including Clerk for account authentication, hosting and database services, Cloudinary for uploaded images, and Brevo for email delivery. Google Analytics may receive website usage information, and Google AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure advertisements. These providers handle information under their own privacy terms.

If you submit a service request, I can review its details and share relevant information with a provider when needed to respond to or manage that request. Information you choose to publish in a provider profile or review is visible to site visitors. If you choose a provider's phone, email, website, social, or WhatsApp link, you will communicate with that provider through the selected service, which is governed by its own terms and privacy practices. I may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the website, or legal rights.

Paid provider plans are arranged using the payment instructions shown on the site, including cash or bank transfer, and payment is manually verified. The website does not currently offer customer service checkout or collect customer card details for provider services.

4. Public profiles, reviews, and images

Approved provider profiles, the business details providers choose to publish, and reviews may be publicly visible. Customer service request details and request photos are not intended to appear on public provider profiles, but relevant request information may be shared with a provider handling that request. Do not submit private or sensitive information or upload images you do not have permission to share.

5. Cookies and advertising

Cookies and browser storage support sign-in sessions, security, preferences, analytics, and advertising. Google Analytics and Google AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits and serve or personalize advertisements, subject to your browser and Google account settings. Blocking cookies may affect sign-in or other features.

6. Retention and security

I keep information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, maintain account and business records, handle requests and disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the website. Retention periods may vary by information type and purpose. I use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee complete security.

7. Your choices and requests

You can manage saved items and reviews in your customer dashboard and may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by contacting me through the website's WhatsApp help link or official social links. Some information may need to be retained for legitimate records, security, or legal requirements. Third-party providers such as Google and Clerk may offer separate account and privacy controls.

8. Children

The website is not directed to children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children who are not permitted to use the service. If you believe a child has provided information, contact me using the channels described below.

9. Changes and contact
